Founder/ceo

LaToya C. Coach is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Our Second Family, Inc., a charitable organization based in Atlanta, Georgia, and serving the greater Atlanta region. With more than 20 years of experience in the financial sector, including credit management, risk assessment, and accounts receivable leadership, LaToya brings a strong foundation of operational excellence and integrity to the organization. Her career in the private sector has equipped her with the discipline, structure, and strategic insight required to guide a mission-driven nonprofit with clarity and accountability.

LaToya’s compassion-centered mission began in 2013 after a transformative encounter with an unhoused individual who simply needed a warm meal and a moment of human dignity.  She is a dedicated volunteer and organizer. She works tirelessly to provide meals and hope to individuals who experience homelessness.

Deeply moved, she dedicated herself to serving vulnerable populations through food distribution, essential care items, and consistent community support. Her mission is to create a sense of dignity and compassion through every act of service, believing that no one should go hungry. Latoya strives to inspire others to join in building more strongly.

This commitment led to the formal incorporation of Our Second Family, Inc. in 2025.

Beyond her professional expertise, LaToya is a proud advocate for human services. As both a natural parent and someone who has opened her home through fostering and adoption, she understands firsthand the importance of stability, care, and family. Her life reflects the belief that every person deserves to feel seen, supported, and valued.

Under her leadership, Our Second Family, Inc. strives to restore dignity, empower underserved families, and strengthen communities—one compassionate act at a time.

Director oF Community outreach

Joanne Burey is a mother of three and a recently retired Special Education teacher, concluding a fulfilling 25‑year career dedicated to empowering students of all abilities. Although she has stepped away from the classroom, her passion for education remains central to who she is. Throughout her career, she worked to create learning environments where every student felt supported, valued, and encouraged to reach their fullest potential. She has long embraced the belief that students don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care.

Joanne holds a BA from SUNY Old Westbury, as well as a Master’s and Specialist Degree from Cambridge University. Her commitment to service extends far beyond her professional life. She is an active member of Our Second Family Inc., which provides essential support to individuals experiencing homelessness. She also volunteers with Burey’s Kids, contributing to social and life‑skills programming and helping provide access to speech, physical, and occupational therapy services.

Teaching may have been her career, but service, compassion, and community uplift remain her lifelong calling.
